Hello everyone! I am a third-year commerce student at Queen's University. I am from Vancouver, BC and it has greatly shaped who I am. I love spending time outdoors and started an Outdoor Education Program at my high school which takes 20 students per year. The program is highly successful and is now in its 6th year. After graduation, I aspire to work in the social impact sector and ski around the world

Where i'm going on exchange

I will be studying at the Stockholm School of Economics next semester. I chose Sweden because I like the winter and snow. I have always wanted to see the northern lights, ski in a different country and experience a different culture. Stockholm is a great mix of being a big city but also having beautiful nature and activities to do nearby. Additionally, the school focuses on social impact which I am very passionate about.

Hello everyone! My name is Josie and I am a third-year commerce student at Queen's University. Growing up I spent a lot of time skiing and camping around Canada and the United States. In Grade 10, I was in an Outdoor Education Program called TREK where we spent the whole year camping around British Columbia and learning about sustainability. Ever since then, I have always been passionate about sustainability and hope to work for a sustainable business in the future.

In the winter semester I will be living in Bergen, Norway! I am super stoked because I love all things outdoors and I am so excited to ski and hike in a different country. Fun fact, it rains on average 239 days of the year (compared to the 150 days it rains in Vancouver, which is my hometown), so I have to make sure I don't forget to pack my rain jacket and pants...

When I was doing the Mountain Adventure Program at Whistler, we had one day a year where everyone would wear onesies. I wore a banana suit. Unfortunately, I went too fast around a corner in the trees and ended up getting stuck in a tree hanging on for dear life. All of this happened under a chairlift for everyone to see. It took 3 people to help remove the branches from the banana suit and get me down from the tree.

This is a video from when I was 16, downhill skiing on cross country skis with no helmet.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO THIS...
